Comparison of laser induced breakdown spectroscopy and fast ICCD imaging for spatial and time resolved measurements of atmospheric pressure helium plasma jet

Abstract In this paper we compared the fast Intensified Charge Coupled Device (ICCD) imaging with newly developed diagnostic method that utilizes laser induced breakdown in plasma jet. Our helium jet was powered by an 80 kHz high-voltage sine wave and propagated into ambient air. Pulsed beam 1064 nm (4 ns pulse duration 5 Hz repetition rate) focused lens at energy below threshold helium. Laser pulses powering signal were synchronized. is highly dependent on concentration of seed electrons other charged particles channel. We radial profiles obtained these two methods. For it ±0.5 mm for ICCD measurement ±1.75 mm, while ionization velocities methods 15 km s −1 20 respectively.
